Crime & Public Safety
The Antelope Valley has been home to commercial cannabis cultivation since 2019 and it hasn’t lead to an increase in crime. Tilth Farms has quietly operated close to Highway 395 and in much closer proximity to homes and Walker businesses without problems. Among citizens comments, we’ve heard the concern that we’re not disclosing our security plan. The California Department of Cannabis Control requires commercial cannabis operators to provide security plans approved by local law enforcement. This plan is confidential by law and would only be weakened by disclosing details of locking methods, alarm systems, camera locations and types, and response times. Sierra High Farms will have a modern and robust security system, approved by the Sheriff’s office, as per licensing requirements. This step isn’t necessary prior to the issuance of a CUP, but must be in hand by the time we seek our Operations Permit from the County.
