Water Quality Impact
Both indoor and outdoor cannabis cultivation are highly regulated by California's Departments of Cannabis Control, Environmental Protection Agency, Water Resources Control Board, Pesticide Regulation, Fish and Wildlife, and Mono County Department of Agriculture. This regulatory oversight imposes tight restrictions on pesticides and herbicides allowed in cannabis cultivation. The majority of chemicals allowed and used in the Antelope Valley for alfalfa and garlic production are prohibited in Cannabis cultivation. Penalties for violations include loss of license as well as civil and criminal prosecution.
